iMovie

Today I learned a lot about iMovie.  I learned you just need to take some footage to get started, then you can take from it what you want.  I learned you can cut and combine all kinds of clips you have taken.  I also learned how to add transitions and background music to your movies.   You can also do a lot of other things and I look forward to learning and messing with iMovie.  I will share with you my work soon.   Thanks for reading!

Classroom Walk through

Today we got to walk around the classroom and look at other people's power points.  I noticed a lot of people had done well with their cut out and I also saw a lot of cool spot colors.  I liked that you could tell everyone had one theme and they basically sticked to that, and that a lot of people put in some interesting music.  I heard a lot of LMFAO which is good, because it's fast moving which makes the power point more exciting.  One big theme I saw was a lot of soccer and a lot of favorite bands people had used pictures from.  Overall it was an enjoyable experience seeing what everyone had accomplished using photoshop and iphoto.

Sound Podcast

The project you assigned me with to fill a position I actually enjoyed.  It was a little difficult at times but I got through it and I hope you enjoyed the finished project.  I think it is able to be used on air because it is a good article and is pretty descriptive.  I hope this was good, but next time I would like to not have to be the one to do the podcast for I feel I do not have a good radio or television voice and I feel the audience may not enjoy me speaking.  Thanks for the opportunity I hope I was able to help you out!

Sound Intro

Hey everyone,  lately we have been learning a lot about sound in class.  We have learned that sound travels in waves and that you can measure sound in amplitude and frequency.  I've also learned that people are starting to lose their hearing at a younger age now do to a lot of the stuff our generation does.  For example we love going to concerts which are extremely loud.  We also enjoy listening to our ipods and in my personal example Beats by dr. Dre.  I have these head phones and they are incredible however they are also very loud and I know they can not be good for my hearing.

After watching the video about Matt Lauer's  hearing I know I need to be more careful with loud noises. Especially If I don't want to lose my hearing by the time I turn 20.  I hope this has made some of you think about how you treat your hearing and maybe reconsider blasting the speakers in your car!  Thanks for your time.

Sound Unit

Recently in class we have started a sound unit.  In the sound unit we have been using Garageband and Audacity.  Both programs are a lot of fun to work with and create projects on.  I recently used Garageband to make a movie project using clips from Friday Night Lights the movie and the song God is an Astronaut. I really am enjoying this sound unit and look forward to my next update to you.

Multimedia class update

Hey everyone! Recently in multimedia we have been working a lot with a program called photoshop and iphoto.  We have done many types of things such as desaturating the color out of a picture, and cropping parts out of a photo.  We have also learned how to take people out of a photo and color over things. Below I have attached a few examples of before and after pictures we have done in class. Enjoy!

Multimedia Applications

Welcome to Action_Jackson's blog.  This is a blog I have created for multimedia applications where we will be learning how to photo edit video edit and edit music.  As of now in class we have learned about copyright and now are moving on to photo editing.  We are using a program called iphoto9 and we have learned a lot about it so far.   We are now able to create all kinds of photo albums, organize photos and edit photos.  I look forward to updating my blog soon with new information on iphoto9 and everything else going on in multimedia applications!
